A Wonderful August
(Notice the little finger marks in the fresh whip cream. . . Rosie did that moments after this pie arrived.)
I've been taught from a young age that you should learn to celebrate your birthday all month if possible and I'm doing my best.
Lauren made me this awesome peach pie from her special family recipe collection. We also stayed a night up at the cottages in Sundance. We saw the Fantastiks. Had breakfast at the Grill. We went out to eat at Buca di Beppos with Shane and Lauren (thanks Megan for babysitting) We went on several bike rides, thanks to my new bike (thanks Mom and Dad), we spent some quality time just as a little family, as well as spent some time at two family reunions. We managed a few trips to the cabin, a little bit of time on a canoe, two nights water skiing, and we have spent LOTS of time swimming -we've been to nearly EVERY pool in the area.
Thanks everyone for making August so great.

What a fun summer! I love that you are trying to celebrate all month...I remember Ali pulling that trick at Ricks too. Do you remember that? That pie looks amazing!! What a great family you have!
Holy Cow! That wore me out just reading it! I think I'm definitely getting old, that's why I decided not to celebrate my birthday at all this month!
I'm glad you guys had such a great August!!
OK, I seriously need the recipe for that pie!!!
wow, how can you top a month like that??
that pie looked so good I wanted to lick the screen.
Delish, I've heard about this pie on several occasions, do you think it might make an appearance at the Dyer Family Reunion?
shelly. just for the record. my birthday is always the WHOLE month of september!
I am glad you are making the most of it.
I have 25 pounds of peaches in a box right now and canning is NOT sounding appealing. However, 10 peach pies could be in order. any way you could finagle that recipe from your SIL? just do it!
