Birthday Boy
Dear Wiley,
Happy 7th Birthday! You are so amazing. You are becoming such a responsible/crafty boy. You have learned how to negotiate extended bedtimes, get out of homework, and be served extra dessert at dinner. You've learned the dramatic art of faking an illness to try and get out of school. You've also started using words like coincidence, irresponsible, and idiot. (None of which we are encouraging you to use).
You've also learned how to look out for Rosie; helping her to feel better if she gets hurt. You usually try physical comedy to help her smile again. You've been working on your phone etiquette, blowing your own nose (with gusto) and perfecting your bed making skills. You also love to take long 30 min. showers, (depriving the rest of us of hot water). You are growing up so fast.
Luckily, you are not so grown up that you won't ask for a goodnight hug and a kiss. You're not so grown up that you won't sit in my lap and cry. You're not so grown up that you still need help with your shoe laces. You are not so grown up that you won't ask to be read bedtime stories.
Wiley, you are amazing.
I love you. Happy Birthday.

Now that is a mother's tender heart speaking. I love it!
Happy Birthday Wiley!
Happy Birthday to your Wiley! Our Sam turns 6 in two weeks. They grow so fast. What gorgeous children you make! So yes we did bring Julia with us to Disneyland and she was so good. She was the warmest of all of us, all bundled and enclosed in the stroller which also had a giant plastic poncho wrapped over it (since we don't have any rain gear as desert dwellers, we improvised with the poncho and opted not to buy one of those plastic stroller zipper cover things.) And the poncho worked wonderfully too. I've been to the big D (as we like to call it) so many times I did sit aside and let Kris take the kids on rides while I nursed her -- the baby centers are great, though I only used them twice in our two days there. We nursed everywhere, but I'm a pretty good public nurser, if I may say so myself. So that was no big deal. Julia loved the rides she was able to go on -- though it was probably like Baby Einstein on steroids to her. I guess it would be funny to show a pic of the stroller in the rain on my blog b/c several people have asked me this. So maybe I will. Anyway, I love your bonmbnnm bmb bbbbmb,b , (that was the work of Sadie) blog.
make me cry!!! so cute. happy birthday to your first baby.
