August 1985-From my mom's journal
We all walked up the road about a quarter of a mile and down into a secluded spot surrounded by trees. It was very beautiful and peaceful. . .our own sacred grove. Dan took Sharalee out into that cold Teton Creek and his voice boomed out in the silence as by the priesthood he baptized her. I felt very close to the spirit at that moment. I am sure there were angels in attendance and maybe her Grandma and Grandad! It was a thrilling moment for all who were there.
Sharalee's journal
I turned 8 on August 10th. I was baptized two days later on August 12th. It was Monday. There were 29 of my cousins and aunts and uncles there. We all walked down to the creek. Daddy walked into the cold water first. Then he took my hand and I followed. He showed me how to hold his arm and then my nose Daddy said the prayer and then dunked me into the cold water. I was sure cold when I got out, but Mom was there with a big warm fluffy blanket. We hurried back to the house and I got my white dress on. My Daddy confirmed me and my uncles helped.

You look freezing!! But I'm sure nice and warm inside!! What great pics. Great flashback!!
I love the second photo. Was it really that cold--even in August?
I can't believe you got baptized in a creek...BRRRRR! what a memorable experience.
Those are great pics for that flash back. thanks for sharing!
SHARA! You are so DANG cute! sheesh! Sorry I didn't come to the game. I was at a festival of colors at the hinde temple. What you guys doing for conference?
I was one of the 29 cousins in attendance! I remember that the water was not very deep, but they said that it only needed to be knee deep to get you under. It really was FREEZING. I also remember walking back with you. We talked about how you were perfect...without sin. I remember that we were trying really hard to help you stay perfect (i.e. do not get upset with your brothers or other younger cousins). I have to admit, my memory is kind of sketchy, but it impressed me that your family wanted to do ordinances with the entire extended family. It somehow strengthened it, and strengthened all of us. Years later, one of your brothers (Jeromy or Dan) received the Priesthood at our cabin with many of our extended family present. Being older, I felt and recognized the spirit like I had rarely felt it up to that point. Again, somehow with all of the family there it felt like eternities and generations, and...power. It was amazing. You Dyers are awesome.
