Family Picture Feb 2007

Our family is always changing. Keeping track of all the small changes is impossible and no picture can really show it. Rosie is talking so much, you just have to decipher it a bit, and Wiley is using words that he doesn't even know the meaning of and always making surprisingly good choices for himself.

Last week we went out to eat for Wiley's birthday. We let him pick anything on the children's menu. I was pointing out the corn dogs and chicken fingers and food of that sort. Wiley ended up choosing the children's Salmon instead. When the waitress asked was he wanted for his side, instead of french fries he wanted "sports candy" AKA veggies. What happened to my little boy? He picked a better meal to eat than Ben and I did. It's no wonder Mac and Cheese is not in my kitchen any more.

Final story. Last week I bought Hamburger Helper. I've never bought it before but I was anxious to see what the kids thought of it. Ben swore he wouldn't even taste it. But I thought it smelled good and just wanted to add variety to the ole' peanut butter routine for lunch. I served up the kids, thinking I had gone the extra mile, when low and behold neither child would eat the meal. Keep in mind, they are not particular (at least I don't think). The fact is, I had hit an all time low. No one would eat my meal. (Ben thinks my all time low is actually purchasing the Hamburger Helper:) We had a good laugh, then everything went into the trash.

what a great family--everyone looks fabulous!

I'm so impressed that wiley made such a healthy meal choice! Jaden might eat it if it was the only thing being offered but given the choice of anything on the kids menu--no way!! he refuses to eat fish just because it's fish but his favorite food of all-time are seafood dumplings (shrimp and crab) from this fab. chinese restaurant in town. I just have to change the name of food so it sounds more appealing (kinda like sports candy).

There's probably a guy on the upper east side, around 123rd, that would probably go for that hamburger helper.

What a cute family. You look great by the way. It's funny because Sam loves hamburger helper. Gross huh. It's probably because growing up in a family of 9 it is a better option than left over casaroles.

It was so nice to see your family's picture. I don't know the rest of your family, but I was glad to see you and Ben and Rosie and Wiley. Wiley is such a big little boy now! Richard is over 3 and our baby is 6 months. Thanks for keeping us on email!
